Gavin Wanganeen is one of the best South Australian players in the modern era and that is always down played in this state because he didn't play for the damn Crows :wallbash:

This is why he's name deserves to be up there in big letters!

The LED banners on level 1 and 3 will look awesome at night, brilliant.

Regarding the LED signs, unless I'm mistaken, the LED signs at AAMI stadium were bought and owned by Port and the Crows.
Are they being transfered to Adelaide Oval and will they remain the property of the clubs?

And considering the LED signs at AAMI only covered about half the way around the ground, are they buying more or is the SMA buying more for Adelaide Oval(as it appears there will be LED signs on upper levels judging from peoples comments.)?

The LED signs are no longer at AAMI Stadium so I wouldn't rule it out that they have just transferred them. As for who owns them I have no clue, I would have assumed it was the SANFL but that's just an assumption.

The new LED signage on level 3 of the Riverbank and Eastern stands will be tax payer funded like the rest of the stadium as far as I know.

I think the fence signage is SANFL, as it has also been used each year for League Finals, except the first year (2011) when they'd been moved to AO for the Port v Melbourne game.
The signage along the fronts of the stands would be part of the stadium, and be permanent.
I'd imagine though that something like fence signage would now come under the SMA. Would love to see it get used in the cricket too. Much more effective advertising, means you can charge more etc. Just don't make it move as much and as fast, especially in a Test, as it would likely drive one crazy seeing it buzz around all day.

I almost 100% certain the clubs got together and bought the led signs at AAMI to create extra revenue.
I'm interested to know who would own the additional led signs at AO..

Clubs definately went in together for the LED's.

I wonder if it was sold to the FFA or Hindmarsh Stadium (EntCent) as im not sure where they would have come from?

From the LED shop? :P

Would be surprised of the AAMI ones don't end up at AO like they did for Port v Melbourne in 2011.

First year the LED signage was used at AAMI for AFL was 2009. Interestingly when they were used at Adelaide Oval in 2011, it was a Subiaco-style set up of only the wing having the LED signage and the rest of the ground having static signage.

First year the LED signage was used at AAMI for SANFL was 2012. Surprised they weren't used earlier by the SANFL though.

The rest of the names on the "footy stand" are up.
Mark Ricciuto himself tweeted this pic earlier.

Quality photo showing the progress made in just two days. Most of the seats into the Fos WIlliams Stand, and the construction path on the eastern side appears to be diminishing, with grass beginning to be laid.

I think they couldn't put the signage behind the goals easily due to the step-in of the advertising boards to go in front of the track for the old sight-screen. For a one-off they did what was easiest whilst still satisfying their advertising arrangements.

Just received an email from SACA stating that the Sheffield Shield final will be played at Gliderol Stadium should the Redbacks earn the right to host. Les Burdett to prepare the outfield and wicket. Trust that the first time there have been multiple events at AO in a short space of time, the Redbacks are in good shield form!
