When are they going to get rid of those pathetic stupid concrete blocks on the eastern side
of Adelaide oval ?

Just because a terrorist drove a car into a crowd in a big city over on the other side of the world
doesn't mean that somebody is going to do the same thing here in a country town like Adelaide.

Honestly they don't fit in with the decor of the oval and they're also painted blue because of the strikers
and their season finished quite some time ago and won't be starting again until the end of the year.

It's my understanding that the council/government are slowly working their way through all of the relevant public spaces to provide permanent bollards (similar to those recently erected at either end of the mall)... Sure, the likelihood of a terrorist attack in Adelaide is low but you can't blame the government for being cautious, especially when your only gripe against they system is the aesthetic of the temporary measures.

"Country town like Adelaide" :wallbash:

How can you say that what's happened overseas won't ever happen here? People probably thought that a lunatic would never drive into crowds in Bourke Street Mall and yet it happened. No city or town is immune to terrorism or lunatics that decide to drive into large crowds of people for what ever reason.

At least be grateful that your safety at the oval is a number one priority and of the utmost concern.

I thought the blocks had some connection with Royal Croquet Club and the Adelaide Festival. That's about the time they appeared.

They were installed in December after the Nice and Berlin terrorism attacks.
They are temporary until permanent barriers are installed.

The AV/lighting upgrade has gradually been taking place over the past 6 weeks or so.

Level 4 LED signage is up and running. The LED lighting in the western stands is up and running, with it gradually coming across the eastern stands too.
