Sounds pretty good! There's good potential that our skyline will continue to expand westwards with this and recent other proposals/developments in the area.

As Shuz indicated the skyline is shifting SW - creeping up on Googer - I'm waiting to see what happens there - more people and apartments, tramline etc etc???

Awesome potential for a key gateway boulevard! Hopefully it'll be a quality design.

I thought of this; it's interesting to note that over the years, many people and the Government have long suggested that a tram loop through the West End would go a long way to revitalising the area and provide some economic and developemnt stimulus into the area. But as I mentioned before, it seems as if this recent spate of proposals has occured without the need for the tram loop.skyliner wrote:As Shuz indicated the skyline is shifting SW - creeping up on Googer - I'm waiting to see what happens there - more people and apartments, tramline etc etc???
(paging stumpjumper to the thread) Unless, the developers know something that we don't? Given the current Labor Government's cosy track record with developers, I wouldn't be suprised if they've indicated to them that they will build a tram loop through the area in the near future; but in order to prop up it's viability they want the developers/people to come into the area first, so that such a service, once implemented would be heavily patronised. And if it's successful, of course they can work the spin machines and say "this is a result of Labor's lovely governance." The conspiracy isn't actually isn't as far-fetched as some people would think.

Shuz, backing up what you said in your last post - take as look at the Nth Tce tramline out to the Entertainment centre - developments since and about then incl the hospital, the research centre, Uni SA developments and the entertainment centre, the convention centre plans and riverbank, Bardon TOD - all of which draw/will draw many users, but did look as though the line was going no where at the time.

This is now on public notification on the DAC website.
There are to be a number of retail outlets on the ground floor. In the Renders they includes stores such as SABA, whether that is for illustrative purposes or they have agreed to lease a tenancy, i don't know.
this will add a lot of life to the area.

Also this proposal has NO blank walls. Just watch the ACC reject it as it's 9m over the height limit.
