At 39 levels, it would be about as tall as Westpac House.

Excellent news!

Was actually only thinking about 123 Flinders this morning.

So does this mean the current proposal is scrapped, or are we talking a revision of it?

In two minds, I like that there's a new proposal on the books, I dislike that I have to find a new picture for the forum's banner.

Should be taller by a slim margin. So it will be the tallest building in Adelaide if it gets off the ground.

So how tall in metres would a revised 39 level building be then?

correct me if I am wrong but being mixed use it would depend on what makes up the extra floors.

Iconic is a word that's been abused a lot - but for this building I would have no problem with that description.

Sorry I haven't got an official height for you yet, that'll probably have to come directly from Datong.

Abused to the point of nonsense.

A building's iconic status is not in its design, it's in what the public makes of it AFTER it is built. A building is only an icon if the public adopts it as a symbol or landmark of a location.

You can't design an iconic building. You can however design an interestingly striking and unique design (and then hope it becomes an icon).

/soapbox

I liked the original design, not sure if it would work scaled up to 39lv. Here's hoping for an interesting and unique design. :)

Fantastic news! :D

Fingers crossed this one doesn't get delayed or cancelled like too many others. A new tallest for Adelaide will be something special after the 20 something year reign of State Bank/Santos/Westpac House.
