The Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED), with the exception of Olympic Dam Task Force who will remain at Terrace Towers, is moving to new premises as of Monday 21 December 2009.
The new location is The Conservatory, 131-139 Grenfell Street, Adelaide, SA 5000. The Conservatory is the same building that the RAA is located in.
Please note that DTED’s postal address (GPO Box 1264, Adelaide SA 5001) and phone/fax/DX numbers will remain unchanged.

Again - crongratulations to all involved. IMO this building is one of the better ones constructed in Adelaide CBD for 20 years at least.

Blue Crystal buys RAA heritage building

THE original Royal Automobile Association building on Hindmarsh Square has been bought by database management business Blue Crystal Solutions for $1.7 million.
The heritage-listed building will be developed by the company into its head office, with the lower floors redeveloped into a restaurant and bar.
Blue Crystal Solutions owner Vito Rinaldi said strong growth for the South Australian-based company had meant it needed to expand its presence.
"We have grown to be the second largest database company in South Australia and we have clients all over the city as well as in Victoria," he said.
"The company has grown since its inception and we are getting busier and getting more work, and the next strategic move for us was to move into the city, where a lot of our clients are based, into a bigger premises."
Mr Rinaldi said he expected to increase his staff to 17 from the current 12.

The property, which formed part of the Conservatory on Hindmarsh Square development led by Babcock & Brown and Hines Property Group, was sold last week at auction by CB Richard Ellis and Jones Lang LaSalle.
It has been on the market on several occasions in the past 18 months and was offered for auction after the previous contract to sell the building to Matthew Trim did not eventuate. CBRE managing director Phil Rundle said the sale had presented the last opportunity to buy a character freehold building in Hindmarsh Square.

Just FYI, i've removed the posts regarding the ongoing court case between bovis and pruszynski architects. Some speculation has been made about what the issues were, and I can tell you 100% they don't know the whole story, unfortunately the architects don't have the right of reply until at least until the court case is over. I'll assure you that the truth will come out after the case and i'll open this thread up for discussion after that. If members can respect that decision that would be greatly appreciated by all.
