it looks extraordinarily similar to the festival bridge and the bridge which links the holdfast marina to the pier.
Ok, I'm wrong then.
im not saying it's bad! id just like to see something a bit more original!!

Its... average. Nothing to get excited about, but it will be good to have greater accessibility to and from the Riverbank precient.

given this bridge proposal, does the ACC's proposal for 3 viewing platforms on the Morphett st bridge still make sense? They are only 200m apart...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

The bridge upgrade will complement the footbridge proposal, and adds barriers between the vehicle & footpath, along with the viewing
platforms, & the result does look worthwhile on the Origen site. ( http://www.oxigen.net.au/projects.php )Urban Design > Morphett and
Victoria Street Bridges

Now all we need is a reason to be at the Riverbank Precinct!

Well they could start by redeveloping the Festival Centre Plaza...

It's a shame - Riverbank itself is really quite nice, but not very useful.

I spent a good ten minutes making the ducks bob up and down on their website.

It could be opened up into a rough analogue of Melbourne's Fed Square. In function only, that is. It would be distinctively Adelaidian framed by the Festival Centre and Parliament House, but opened out into a functional space, instead of the '70's Modern sculpture / lego blocks it is now. Then somehow linked in a more pedestrian friendly way with Elder Park, KW Road and the Casino / Railway station; as well as the proposed footbridge.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

I really want to suggest all sorts of glorious water features for the Plaza: cascades, waterfalls, fountains and the like.

Curse thee, lack of rain!

If anyone can get their hands on a City Messenger paper in the next week, there is an article about the proposed Torrens River footbridge linking the Festival Centre to the Adelaide Oval (the cable-stayed bridge design), it is apparently one step closer to becoming a reality.

EDIT: Read the previous page for the article.

Isn't it the article that was posted on the last page?
