Pirie Street buildings should go higher than 18 storeys - this is the core business district we're talking about. Would be good to see this site re-developed into something modern.

Completely disagree with having a nightclub in this location. These venues are far better off in the west end of town where there are plenty of people and the appropriate security measures in place.

I disagree, I think its good having nightclubs spread across the CBD such as along Pirie Street.

it is much easier for police, etc to patrol the areas if all the clubs are only a small distance from each other.

Night clubs etc., would be better suited in an entertainment district than in office buildings here and there? At street level and even underground wouldn't it be best to have food and retail outlets instead of pubs and clubs? That's my reasoning.

I popped into town last week, and walked around... and while going through Pirie Street, I couldn't help but think how awesome it would look having 73-79 (and Aurora) filling in their respective gaps. Adding some nice height and bulk to an already relatively well-developed street. What's been the hold-up with these one? Like several projects it first emerged several years ago, and since it's been approved for a while, there hasn't even been demolition. Is it the same deal with Currie Street and securing a tentant?

Hey guys, any recent news on this one?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Silence doesn't always mean bad news...well, let's hope not. Could be that they are re-thinking the design, maybe vying for a 5 or even 6-star rating. Maybe they are also thinking about adding a few more floors. The site could easily fit a Grenfell Centre-sized building.

So... it's been over two years and there hasn't been a word from the developers what's going on. When does the DA expire?

I hope these guys are re-thinking the design of this tower and going for something substantially taller (like, at least 90 metres). Personally I would love to see something in the region of 110-120 metres. I think there's enough room on this allotment to do this, and it's on the southern side of the street where shadowing wouldn't be as big an issue. Wishful thinking?

That would make for a happy little Vege-omi. I should hope that effort is being made to reduce the boredom of the current design. It's not particularly inspiring or interesting at all, and I'm all for quality of design over absolute height.
