The empty wine bottle on site would be eligible for a heritage listing by now :hilarious:

Those kinds of holding costs could push the project back years

I do quite a lot of slashing work and it's pretty common for vacant blocks to be cleaned up this time of year. With the
rain that we've had over winter there's a lot of vacant blocks with weeds everywhere. If the owners don't clean them up
then they can get fined by the councils.

This site was cleaned up a couple of weeks ago and there's no need to get excited. If construction was about to start then we would have seen further activity on site over the couple of weeks.

I am interested in buying an apartment and I've been in contact with Datong. They are hopeless, this project isn't going anywhere.

Looks like they've just made it easier for people, i assume datong in the building next door, to park their cars in there.

Are they still answering calls GHS? Weird the realestate listing has gone and the sales centre abandoned.

No they're not answering calls, I rang a couple of days ago. It's dead.

Bit embarrassing especially since the Premier and governnment figures turned up for a shovel digging ceremony. Jumped the gun with this one.

At the time of the ceremony the project didn't have a builder appointed and sales hadn't started. It was obvious
that it was a bit of a mock up. Accordingly Jay Weatherill and the other government figures shouldn't have been involved.

There's an excavator on site now. The sheds at the back of the block have been demolished.
I would say that Datong are now clearing the site in preparation for sale. Similar to what happened
last year with New Mayfield. The display centre will probably be demolished over the next couple
of days. RIP Datong Australia.

Very disappointing really. This building would've done wonders for that part of Waymouth Street. Hopefully we'll see another proposal for this site soon.

Good call mate, it would have been great for Waymouth street. Unfortunately it will take a few years for another proposal to get going.

In almost every instance where a proposal has not gone ahead the subsequent one has been far greater in design and height. Let's hope that will continue here.

I know this is thrown around alot, though this site needs something above the 90m mark. Be visible from KWS and bring some further height to the skyline.

This morning there were a couple of guys on site. One was from Built Environs and another was
from Alexander Symonds Surveying. So it looks like it's still alive.
