Yep this one has always been slated for Q4 this year and as far as I know that hasn't changed.

Is this the Sofitel at Luminesque, I'm looking to purchase. But had heard that it now wont be a Sofitel but some other hotel?

Its still being advertised as a Sofitel, best way to find out is to go in to the sales centre and ask one of the guys.

Article in today's AFR in relation to the re badging of the Crown Hotel as the Pullman referenced the Sofitel and an opening date of 2019.

They will need to get a wriggle on to meet that time frame.

I spoke to a sales guy in there a while ago and he said that the Palumbo crew would be moving to this as soon as the Kent Town apartments finished, so hopefully we will see some action pretty soon on this site.

From Ben's post re 20 Hindmarsh Sq -

From 2019 Accor will also operate the city's first Sofitel hotel, a 257-room luxury venue that will be the first five-star hotel built in Adelaide in 30 years.

Got an email saying 60% of apartments have been sold, and that preliminary works are scheduled to commence in october. By preliminary works, they mean work to the infrastructure outside the site, thus enabling construction to occur.

According to the sales guy they really try to have it up and running before Mad March 2020. Consequently I believe they currently have a little it of buffer in their schedule and will finish in late 2019 if everything goes to plan

Bit of a thread bump. Has anyone purchased one of these apartments? There seems to be a big delay from when they initially planned to start and realeastate.com.au still says completion Dec 2019 - obviously that won't happen.

Bit of a concern, with Sheraton and ALoft falling over.

I know a guy who works for Palumbo and he is now saying demolition and site works in the second half of this year followed by construction early next year.

Lots of service makings on the footpath out the front, and both side roads each side of the site have appeared in the last week or so. Potentially related or unrelated to the site itself.

Sugar coat it however you like, but it's pretty poor since this was first mooted over 4 years ago. Not to mention it was reported on a prime time news service well over 2 years ago.
