Decent height for the area.

Based on what is currently there. i.e. a 200m tower would be high for the area around Westpac as nothing of that height exits there and a 4 level building would be high for south road area, its all relative.rev wrote:Not having a go at you, but I've never understood this mentality.Ben wrote: quite high for the area.

Re: the height. I think it's pretty impressive for the area and at the same time, looking at the perspective shots, it won't look ridiculous in the context of its surrounds.
I've no doubt there will be some sense still by local residents that it's 'too tall', but I'd rather have half a dozen of these than even one of that disgusting apartment block that's half the height on the corner of Pulteney and South Terrace.

What's on the north side? Balconies or blank boundary concrete wall?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Surely balconies? Would be a massive waste of excellent city views if not.Wayno wrote:What's on the north side? Balconies or blank boundary concrete wall?

Looking at the DAC submission it appears balconies around all sides.

So whats on the north side, street frontage or another block/building?
I've always wondered, would they sell such apartments that aren't exactly towering up with the clouds, with a warning that in the fine print about the "views" possibly being blocked one day by another development across the road or on the adjacent block?

I believe the ACC dev plan limits high rise to blocks facing south terrace. So the housing immediately north (which are new-ish townhouses fronting onto Gilles st) will never block the view.

Looks like a pretty considered design. JPE always do good work.
