Apparently the site has been shutdown today. Anyone have any information?
A site can be shut down for a variety of different reasons, I would be too alarmed.

Ben, you may have an inside contact here, any word?

The site is a ghost town, I wonder if its a structural issue? Looking at the historic progress photos on this forum, it looks like they've recently installed a heap of props in the South East corner all the way up the building. while they've strapped two props beneath the North east Podium column......

Why would the crane be in operation then if it's a said "ghost town?"

Yep, word on the street is a structural issue.

Apparently a scissor lift hit into a structural column down in the basement last week and over the weekend that column showed further damage.

Site is shutdown until further notice. (advised yesterday)

Definitely activities happening on site thismorning with crane and hoist moving. Apparently Super Structure is on hold due to cracking in structural columns.... they poured last week, weather is superb this wk and there are no RDO. So they should be loading up the next floor and jacking up the jump form thus wk.
Wait and see i guess.
Scissor lift move pretty slow, surely they wouldn't cause this??

Article in the Advertiser now:
Workers evacuated as structural column cracks on $100m Kodo Apartment tower building site in Adelaide’s CBD

A COLUMN has cracked on the $100 million Kodo Apartment tower site, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of workers and raising fears about the building’s structural integrity.

Construction of the Kerry Stokes-backed tower site on Angas St was suspended on Friday after a worker discovered a precast structural column on the sixth floor had cracked.

SafeWork SA, the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union and builder Watpac are investigating the cause of the incident on the 30-storey tower — next to the Federal Court building — which will be Adelaide’s tallest residential building at 103m when completed.

Hundreds of steel props have been installed to support the weight of the 21 completed floors while investigations continue.

CFMMEU SA acting branch secretary Andrew Sutherland said about 200 workers were evacuated from the site on Friday and exclusion zones have been put in place to prevent potential damage from falling concrete and to prevent anyone interfering with the props.

He said about 80 workers were able to return to work on Tuesday morning in areas not affected by the “structural failure”.

He said the CFMMEU would launch its own inquiry into the incident because it did not have faith in SafeWork SA handling the matter.

“We are bringing our own expert in from interstate and he will carry out his own investigation — this is pretty serious,” he said of the incident, which was discovered by a union delegate.

“We want to know why it has blown out (the concrete column) and are there going to be issues with other panels.

“There’s definitely a structural issue moving forward and I don’t know how they are going to rectify it.

“I haven’t experienced anything like this before, that’s why I think it’s important we do a thorough investigation and we’re comfortable it’s not an ongoing issue.”

He said United Precast at Ottoway had manufactured the concrete columns and panels.

He praised Watpac’s swift response to the incident and said the company was flying in an engineer on Tuesday to determine how to remove the failed panel and reinstate the structure.

“It’s a common building practice to use precast columns and walls … I hope it’s (the damage) just a one-off,” he said.

The developer of the Kodo building is Melbourne-based Flagship Property, which is majority-owned by Mr Stokes’ Seven Group Holdings and infrastructure group Plenary Group.

Flagship referred The Advertiser’s request for comment to Watpac.

United Precast referred comments to Watpac and SafeWork SA is preparing a response.

The Advertiser revealed last month that windows had shattered and blinds had melted in Adelaide’s tallest apartment tower, Vue on King William.
