The building still has a lot of exterior work to be done. I would wait till it’s finished in a few months before writing it off.

Your optimism is admirable, but even so I'd still love to see that review. Under this assessment panel we have seen too many buildings ending up looking absolutely nothing like their much more appealing renders, and plenty more sub-standard designs that end up looking exactly like their renders.

Agreed. We are getting some decent height but what's the point if they are ending up looking like 'commie blocks.' Time to review the role of the assessment panel and to start enforcing greater design standards.
It's the city development plan that needs changing. The assessment panel can't enforce design standards that aren't required.

You look at some of the quality towers in the Eastern states and when these 30+ storeys were proposed here we got our hopes up
Final verdicts need to be reserved of course until completion but it's not looking hopeful
They are what they are
When they were proposed I spoke to a CBD real estate person who was skeptical back then about the quality and finish of these towers and the developers asking for amendments mid construction isn't helping assumptions
State Bank remains our prime block and we will have to wait for a quality landmark proposal closer to the heart of the city

Is it just me or has this building seemingly been on hold for 3 to 4 months now. I assume they've been doing interior work, but the outside has hardly changed. I'd have thought all or almost all of the windows and balconies would be installed by now

Personally I quite like this building but I do hope they do something decent to that blank wall. 11 Hassall St Parramatta is IMO a reasonably good example of what can be done to the blank wall of a tall building with a bit of imagination

Some recent pictures of 11 Hassel St Parramatta. The side wall will soon be covered by a new building next door . Picture 12 Jan 2019.

Perhaps the angle was misleading but pretty much a blank wall, no? The variation in colour and some 3D relief lends it some interest. Much better than Kodo's western wall in its current form

I thought they had intended to paint the Kodo western wall? Or is this being left as is?

Another example of dressing up a blank wall - Gravity Tower in South Melbourne

No reason why we couldn't get an outcome like this. The will just isn't there for developments in Adelaide it seems.
