Is that the site of the PJ O'Brien's Hotel?

13-20 East Tce is a little bit further south than your street view photo (It's where Oyster Bar is, which you can just see on the far left of that photo; rather than where PJ O'Briens and ETC are).

It would have to be a pretty shallow building. I assume the existing building would have to be retained, which leaves the car parking area out the back up to the cinemas as development space.

I was just about to post this haha but my info says Rundle Street.

Status

UNDER ASSESSMENT

Address 292-300 Rundle St, ADELAIDE
Proponent C Projects
Value $20 million
Height 23 storeys

I was thinking it was the Hines proposal

Hines Property wraps up landmark East End site

Hines Property has secured a prime site on Rundle Street, in heart of the Adelaide's vibrant East End precinct and is underway with design for a landmark apartment project. Renowned global architecture firm, Woods Bagot, have been appointed to lead the design process.
Unless this is a massive "catalyst" site this is massive above height limits for Rundle Street and East terrace.

23 levels is very tall for the Rundle Street area. It probably will get snapped up quickly.

I am all for progress but that area of shop fronts is really nice... looks like a nice old building as well - it would be a real shame to lose it. IMHO very little of what gets built in Adelaide has enough architectural merit to warrant replacing what is currently there. Having said that, very little of what gets preserved, or people want preserved, is of high enough architectural quality to warrant preserving :/ I guess there is always a happy medium... just my :2cents:

Would be a crying shame to see that strip redeveloped

292-300 Rundle St looks like the official address for the land, but 13-20 East Tce would make more sense to people for marketing etc.

Never thought I'd say this but I think it's too tall. That is a low rise area of the CBD and think it should stay relatively so. Lots of these buildings add a lot to the streetscape.

Wow, there seems to be a lot of NIMBY's coming out of the woodwork on this website at the
moment !!

At the moment it is a low rise area but over time that is going to change, we still have
the James Hines proposal to come through and a couple of proposals in Kent Town.

As long as the building is not right on the footpath then it should all be ok. Surely it can be
designed so that it's set back a bit from East Terrace / Rundle Street.

This building won't get built, because this says otherwise.

Mate, are you mellowing in your old age?

I recall a few days ago, you also said that you sympathised with the Adelaide Parklands Preservation Association.
