Underwhelming to the point of embarrassing. Considering the high profile location, coupled with an extraordinarily simple design, to have this standard of cladding is a joke. I'm noticing a lack of fixing points for cladding the exposed core, which appears to be another cost saving as all other renders showed the cladding continuing the whole way around the tower.

Talk about a shit sandwich.

What makes it even more embarrassing is BHP (the second biggest mining company in the WORLD) is the major tenant with naming rights to this building for prob. 25+ years. I don’t expect the facade to be gold or silver but why not incorporate some quality materials?

On a positive note, personally I think that glass doesn't look half bad.

It's okay but it's not great.

The glass looks alright in the photos but in reality, it looks plastic. The cladding around the glass looks like the same material they use for some transportable offices.

What I find annoying is the building behind with the green glass windows, every one has their blinds set at different levels and office documents stuck up on the windows
I have to laugh at this comment.

I work in the ANZ building behind (with the green glass windows).

We have been in this building since 2008.

The blinds have been an ongoing source of contention and bitter debate since that time due to the glare and people's differing sensitivity.

Hence, why the blinds look like a clusterf***.

Give it another 10 years, it will be the same.
Looks a bit messy from the outside but can't really blame people inside the building. Floor to ceiling west facing windows are going to cause problems unless the windows are well tinted/shaded.

It may get batter once we see the entire wall in its entirety but yes its very bland and certainly for such a prominent spot around the square should not have been allowed. Disappointing for offices of a large multinational

Even the student tower planned for North Terrace has more appeal.

The student tower that will be in front of The Adelaidian? That looks to have much more appeal considering the crap we have had and will have go up. It’s one of the better ones.

Going against the grain here, but I love what I am seeing. My only criticism will come with they do their treatment of the bottom three levels. The original design with the sandstone was much nicer.

I also don't mind it. I think the glass looks great. Would be better if the borders were smaller but think this could still look very good.

Well it's not going to wreck the skyline but I stand by the fact that the glass looks like plastic when comparing it with the quality glass of the ANZ.

Yeah I'm not sure why this one has been met with such negativity, it really isn't that bad. Meanwhile just down the road everyone seems to be in love with the Uniting Communities building which basically just looks like an updated version of the Optus building.

I'm honestly just glad it's not another green glass job because the whole site was starting to look to the untrained eye like one massive green building.
