Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
Sounds like a hilariously weird mish-mash of ideas and themes... I'll probably go at least once to check it out. Plus I heard that it will mainly be a true house music (not commercial dance music) venue. Winning!

Seems they think that Adelaide's full of coked-up stockbrokers from the 1980s.
- Mermaids
Hammerhead sharks
Floor-to-ceiling infinity tank in the middle of the floor with two swimming performers
2.5m champagne fountain
Acrobats
Onyx wall
“World’s largest” Agate bar worth more than $450,000
Helicopters to fly in high-profile interstate guests
Potentially using Light Square as a helipad
Door girls
Chauffeured Range Rovers for VIPs
Gold plated toilets from Turkey
Bongo players
Seems like the kind of class that's missing the 'c' and the 'l'.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I'll only be going to take a dump in the gold toilets.
Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
The night club industry here in SA is pretty volatile, honestly what is the owner doing spending
so much money just on a night club ??
The owner is 26 years old ?
He spent $450,000 on a bar and $2.5 million on a champagne fountain, how is he going to get a return
on that ?
Are people really going to go there just because there's a couple of hammerhead sharks ?
I would give it 12 months at the most.

I just love the whole "mermaids", "sharks", "helicopters", and... "bongo players".
Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
I think it's a 2.5 metre champagne fountain rather than a 2.5 million dollar oneghs wrote: He spent $450,000 on a bar and $2.5 million on a champagne fountain, how is he going to get a return

Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
I'm obviously in the wrong job if a 26 year old tradie can afford a multi million dollar nightclub... I'm sure its all been financed legitimately

I wouldn't under estimate the amount of wanabee Kim k girls who are attracted to this kind of over the top shit.
Target the attractive girls who Wana live that "high life" and post about it on social media (look at me I party at a place with mermaids and sharks).
Which in turn attracts the rich guys with money who want to prey on these girls
It could work I guess

You're not making it sound any less abhorrent.thecityguy wrote:I wouldn't under estimate the amount of wanabee Kim k girls who are attracted to this kind of over the top shit.

Wasn't trying too, was just pointing out that there is probably money to be made and market for this kind of over the top club

From Renew Adelaide:
Renew Adelaide has an amazing opportunity to secure a basement in the heritage listed building, Bertram House.
This basement = grunge. To bring out the potential of this space, we envisage this underground gem being turned into a small bar or music venue. It is a very rare occasion that a heritage listed property with such originality and potential comes to Renew Adelaide, so for this reason, it is important that your concept will stand out from the crowd.
Inspection on 12 January at 4:00pm, applications close 17 January 2016. Click here to register to attend an inspection.
PROPERTY FEATURES
Location: Bertram House, on the corner of Coromandel Place and Grenfell Street
Type of Property: Basement with small venue potential
Area: Approximately 95 square metre tenancy
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
The basement of Regent arcade that is undergoing renovations is being marketed as "Adelaide's only late night Supper club". It is called The Propaganda bar.
Not entirely sure what they mean by a supper club.
