Not sure where this is supposed to go, but Lord of the Fries is opening soon in Hindley Street.

Was going to put this up a few days ago but like you I didn't know where it should go. Can we amend this tab to include new cafes/restaurant brands of notability?

Some photos of the new Q Nightclub and Crazy Horse under construction:

Possibly the vacant shopfront between Grand Chancellor and Club X which has been empty for as long as I can remember - some action happening there the other day when I walked past.Norman wrote:Not sure where this is supposed to go, but Lord of the Fries is opening soon in Hindley Street.

Really good to see these recent improvements to Hindley Street - Holiday Inn, GU Cinemas, Q Superclub, Crazy Horse etc
Not to mention the UniSA expansion past Morphett Street.

I think that's the one, they have had signs up for a couple of weeks saying the location, it's on the south-eastern side of Hindley Street.Abwolf wrote:Possibly the vacant shopfront between Grand Chancellor and Club X which has been empty for as long as I can remember - some action happening there the other day when I walked past.Norman wrote:Not sure where this is supposed to go, but Lord of the Fries is opening soon in Hindley Street.

It's next to The Little Pub on Hindley (across from Gloria Jeans), they've had LoF branding over the shopfront for weeks now...Nort wrote:I think that's the one, they have had signs up for a couple of weeks saying the location, it's on the south-eastern side of Hindley Street.Abwolf wrote:Possibly the vacant shopfront between Grand Chancellor and Club X which has been empty for as long as I can remember - some action happening there the other day when I walked past.Norman wrote:Not sure where this is supposed to go, but Lord of the Fries is opening soon in Hindley Street.

I used to LOVE that place... assume it's the same outfit as the one diagonally opposite from Fed Square?Norman wrote:Not sure where this is supposed to go, but Lord of the Fries is opening soon in Hindley Street.
Proper, fresh hand cut chips (not the usual pre-cooked frozen shite) with your choice of topping.
They used to do an Italian one with ragu sauce and shaved parmesan.
Sublime.

Nordburger opening a CBD location in the old Hello Kitty cafe on Moonta St. Bad news for my waistline.

General notice in this weeks City Messenger regarding a liquor license for the restaurant under construction at Victoria Park, the restaurant will be called 'The Stables on Victoria Park'. Will be good to see this area gain some nightlife, also has the added advantage of lots of free parking around, just a shit during the Clipsal.

I was under the impression that they were keeping the facade of the new Q Night Club premises on Hindley in tact. Not so. The whole thing is a pile of rubble this morning.

That's disappointing. It would have made an interesting façade.Abwolf wrote:I was under the impression that they were keeping the facade of the new Q Night Club premises on Hindley in tact. Not so. The whole thing is a pile of rubble this morning.
I wonder what tackiness they have in plan.

Still think it's a shame to have lost this little building forever. Fully supportive of the new development and it'll be a great asset to the area and hopefully the live music scene but would have hoped to have seen the facade at least retained behind cladding. Oh well.
