Be good to see the Rosemont transformed into a live music venue.

I wonder what the former Bull & Bear/Jack Ruby on King William St is being transformed into.
Through the windows, I saw some work being carried out.

Insieme Restaurant and Cos closed permanently this week, and Rigoni's has gone into administration. But in good news, the long vacant former Caos Cafe on Hindley will reopen in coming months as 'Stem' bar/tapas.

I see the Rosemont closing down as a good opportunity for something new. It's in a prime position for a hotel or a new night club.
Lease has now been taken over by GM Hotels Group (which runs a bunch of pretty average suburban pubs e.g. The Tower etc) to be relaunched as 'The Rosey' next month. Moderate immediate upgrade focused on improving food and bar offering, as well as allowing weekend live music, and apparently short-to-medium term plans to redevelop a beer garden and mezzanine level.
Thanks for the info.

The old rosemont was pretty run down and really needed to be refurbished. Hindley street is looking better with the new HQ, the upgraded crazy horse, the holiday inn and downtown recently being re-furbished. We can only hope the new development continues. In my opinion it's time for the dog and duck and the woolshed to go. Ship up or ship out.

Thank heavens for that. I've been finding it really hard to get a burger around that part of town lately.

Is that a joke? Bettys Burgers and even Hungry Jacks, McDonalds are close.

It's definitely a joke. And you're forgetting Grill'd and the numerous other bistros with burger offerings. Point being, spoilt for choice (although at least this one looks to be locally owned, even if overly ambitious on the menu). That'll make business tough unless they serve a compelling burger.

Ah, ok. The branding's a little dated so I assumed a lower budget than a national chain. Was hoping it'd be something unique to the East End at least.
