New plan has been submitted to the DAC. Will be a nice cluster once complete. My only concern is I believe the developer is Tangcheng. Known for lots of proposals (of low quality) and then selling off the land. I don't believe they have actually ever built anything in Adelaide.
Description of Proposed Development:
Demolition of existing structures and construction of a multi-storey mixed-use building comprising two towers, one at 20 storeys and the other at 17 storeys; with a mix of residential, retail and cafe uses; car parking; landscaping; and associated site works.

Detailed Land Uses:
Residential - Residential Flat Building
Retail - Shop

Application Type: DAC - Adelaide ($10m)

Application Status: LODGED

Land Use/Building Consent: Yes

Lodgement Date: 17 Jul 2015

Address: Corner Franklin Street and Elizabeth Street, Adelaide

Applicant Details

Name:

Zhengtang Pty Ltd C/- Masterplan SA Pty Ltd

Workers were on site cleaning it up today. Potentially a new fence too but not too sure

They've been there since the weekend, just a couple of guys filling up a skip. Looks like it may be the guts of the building that sits in the corner of Franklin and Elizabeth Streets. Roofing panels, fluro lighting boxes etc.

The actual site was tidied up a fair bit when they trucked off those two massive piles of dirt. About time someone cleaned up all the garbage urban construct left lying around the place.

Pretty sure it was seen, but when I (and I'm sure others, too) noticed it was Tancheng, quickly dismissed it as yet another proposal that won't ever come to fruition.

Ben, I don't see the connection between Tangcheng and developers for this proposal, other than being a Chinese firm.

Are you sure they'ret the same mate? I sure hope as hell that it's not Tangcheng....

Yeh I'm pretty sure it's been discussed on the forum somewhere else it's a translation thing. Tangcheng = zhengtang. Happy to be proven wrong.

There was a mobile crane on site here yesterday on the western side of Altitude building... Didn't have time to check out what they were doing.

Also the old sales building (the pigeon poo one) on the corner of Franklin and Morphett has been getting well and truly cleaned out over the last week.

Things are happening!

There were 2 people riding in a box suspended from the crane taking pictures and making a movie. Note the Watpac crane in Grote St in the background.

So they've been gutting the building which the display occupied a part of.

The urban construct signs fronting Franklin St came down today - thank goodness, what an insult it was to have their name adorning the site for so long.

Not sure if we should start a new thread for this new "era".

This one is now out for registrations.

To be known as "West Franklin". The display suite will open by the end of the month.

Soooo... they're going to knock down the existing brick wall and replace it with a new (old looking) brick wall?

Ah, got it. Corner of Elizabeth St & Franklin, not the Morphett St corner.

The brick section looks really quite nice and fitting with the opposite corner of the site, the rest is very generic apartment building that we see in the 21st century. Will still get sleep at night but nothing to be proud of.
