I hope this turns out to be a little more sleek than the renders. Though with our render to final product ratio this last few years, I won't hold my breath. Not a bad design though.

40,000 sq metres is a lot of office space. Think the ATO building on Franklin and the Westpac building and you'll get the idea.

Does anyone have the latest DA submission for this project? Would like to look at the design in more detail.

Walker is a developer not a builder.

The building hasn't gone out for tender yet. Builder isn't known currently.

Advertiser incorrect as usual. Perhaps they are thinking of SkyCity - different site, different developer. The office tower core won't start rising until at least mid next year. The basement/carpark retaining works for the overall festival plaza site should commence soon, following on from the demolition which is obviously underway now. The works are not being delayed by grade separation - this has nothing to do with it. In addition, I think people are confusing the plaza/carpark works with the tower works - they are related but separate packages.

In the original DA, Walker requested an additional 2 years on the standard approval from the outset. So it doesn't appear they've ever been in too much of a hurry with the tower.

This was hidden in today's budget announcement. What could possibly cost this amount of money unless they are funding the office build as well or building a new Festival centre?
