How typical, the pub next door to this development is opposed to it. They’ve posted a negative piece about it with some photos of the site on their Facebook page.

Unbelievable, 600 new potential customers and they oppose it?

That's not what they're opposing. It's the noise concerns. Look what happened to the Austral Hotel when Bent Street apartment residents complained about the noise, despite the pub having been there for 150 years. They had to build a soundproof room and reduce the number of live music gigs because of that. Really the rules need to be changed that residents living next to a pub forgo thier right to complain about noise

I thought that the late night code was changed while John Rau was AG to protect live music venues? Or maybe it was only spoke about.

To be fair to the Ed Castle, the main grievance they've indicated in their Facebook post is the bad neighbour conduct of the builders and city council. Their access to and enjoyment (for staff and customers) of their own property has been impeded by mostly avoidable disruption by the other parties. That does seem shitty to me and entirely separate to any opposition to a 17 storey building (to which, get over it).

Actually Shuz, you are incorrect.
The Bent St apartments were built at the same time as the Bunker.
The developers of the Bent St Apartments actually put double glazing on all their windows and doors.
There were no complaints from the Bent St apartments re The Austral.

I bought one of the brand new apartments in Bent St and the developers did a really good job of ensuring that the two entities would be able to live alongside each other.

I think you should be referring to the Exeter

Looking on Facebook, looks like there is two sides to this story.

BTW - the core of this can now be seen from the KWS bridge over the Torrens. It's going make quite the impact from all directions.
