The front of the existing building is now covered in scaffold and demolition is underway at the rear of the building.

The western 1/2 of this building has been demolished as at 2/6/2019. Note work is progressing on U2.2 next door.

All gone now

It looks like a basement has started at the south east corner but I could not get a good picture from Waymouth st (need to go up into the multi storey car park), Click on picture for bigger.

Piling has commenced.

I wish to make a correction to my last entry above. They have not started to dig the basement. What they did was systematically dig large holes all over the site to remove any footings from the previous building then fill them in and compact the site so that the Piling rig and other equipment could move about the site. As Ben mentioned there is a piling rig is on site. Could not stop for a picture today.

There is a crane base on the western side of the site. (Favco I think).

Synergy Construct facebook posted a pic of the crane base and said its going up on the weekend.

28/7/2019 the completed crane (on the right) as seen from Currie St (near Sofitel).

Having a look at the architectural drawings for this one. We have quoted the height incorrectly at 53m. This does not include the plant room, which actually adds a further 3m to the overall building height. I have thus amended the title of the thread. The building is actually 56m tall.

Went passed today (Monday) and there appears to be a pit for the lift core in the centre of the site. Could not stop for a picture.
