I'll try and get some pics today.
If anyone is able to get some pictures before me that'll be ok, I'm pretty sure its part of a crane that's going up. I was at the hospital yesterday visiting my mum who went in for an operation which went well

That's a nice little laneway there, a good spot. Also nice to see Forme slowly upping the heights of their buildings from the generic 4 and 5 levels they've built up around this one and the slightly taller 6 and 7 level ones going up around Hurtle Square. Just hoping they can vary the design a bit now their buildings are going to be a bit more prominent...Ben wrote:http://www.realcommercial.com.au/proper ... -501594893Type: Application Assessed on Merit

The ACC didn't like the 6 level proposal for melb Street too much. I must say it looks a bit odd but maybe it will set a precedence.
That the Development Assessment Commission be advised that in respect to Development
Application S10/1/2017:
1. The Development Assessment Panel is supportive of the construction of a mixed-use
development on the long standing vacant site.
2. The DAP has concern on the following aspects:
2.1 The development does not meet the setback angles Concept Plan Fig MS(ME)/1 and
Principle 15, Figure 1. This results in visual intrusion and overshadowing impacts for
the residents within the adjoining NAHCZ and as such is at odds with the desired
character that seeks the enhancement of amenity for residential development
within and adjacent the Zone;
2.2 The proposal fails to provide a meaningful podium to reinforce the prevailing datum
heights and parapet lines. The desired character and Zone provision seeks a twostorey
podium on the street frontage with upper level setbacks to provide a clear
distinction between the levels below and above the prevailing datum line. A
nominal 400 mm setback at level three (3) does not achieve this;
2.3 The redesign of the ground floor to support the pathway for bin collections to be a
pull out pull in service from Melbourne Street to mitigate associated risks and
impact with this type of collection need and frequency. Collection from Bower
Street is not supported;
2.4 Further consideration of the internal layout, orientation and environmental
performance of the apartments;
2.5 Visual and acoustic privacy between the occupants of the apartments and the
existing residents to the south shall be addressed;
2.6 Further resolution of the apartment entry point to ensure that the development is
provided with a well-designed legible entrance to the apartments in accordance
with Council Wide Principles 195 and 197.

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development
Does anyone know what is happening on the South west corner of Flinders and Morphett street (145 Morphett)? It has been enclosed in boarding and looks like it is about to be demolished.
