If you stand at a strategic point on Pulteney Street you can now see 5 cranes in close proximity. It is an amazing and confident sight!

Cabin, platform, engine and counterweights are all on. Next will be the A frame then the boom. I'd say it'd be all but finished by this afternoon.
Walking on over....

A couple of the upper level more expensive apartments have been sold in the last week.
Looks like the economic crisis hasn't impacted on the confidence of buyers just yet in
Adelaide's better residential developments which is great !

I guess with the economic crisis there may be a slow down in building developments, however, is this simply due to no one wanting to lend large sums of money?? Has the cost of building actually gone down/steadied (ie. steel etc.) or is this too still skyrocketing.

Would hate to see steel and costs still rising, as when we get through this crisis and people have confidence to start lending agian, it may be too costly and things will be at a standstill again.

You are right here! The AFR gave a report on this today and said that only Adelaide and Hobart have remained stable in overall resi/housing prices - all the rest have dropped- Brisbane 5.4% in the last year. The article inferred that in Adelaide's case immigration, mining and infrastructure have propped up the resi/housing activity and values. Great for us!

Moving along nicely. Thanks for that Ben! It's a pity that view will be gone soon.
