West Lakes and then later in the 90s Golden Grove both won Worlds best awards.
Yay! Another childhood memory saved from the clutches of destruction!

Yeah, I was just thinking to myself the other day about how horrible it would be if that chain of ponds were to be destroyed. I used to live just around the corner with my Dad and we would go for a walk down there to the cafe every Saturday morning and have something to eat. I used to love how nice the paths alongside the little rivers connecting the ponds were, with all the greenery and nice water. One of my favourite memories ever.

is this building complete?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

No, I believe the hessian clad scaffolding should start coming down sometime soon.

The crane is still up also.

The perimeter scaffolding sits on the podium level, hence the "exposed" wall at the lowest level.

A two bedroom apartment is advertised in this week's Weekly Times (Messenger) for $1.375 -> 1.5 million, a bit out of my range.

Tower crane has been removed in the last week or two, & the scaffolding / hessian is progressively being removed.

How many mid/high rise bldgs are in West Lakes now - seems to be increasing rather rapidly.
