Yes the "new random building" is the new display centre. The current one is moving & Jarmers Kitchen will be extending into the ex-display area, see plans on their facebook.

I didn't know about Jarmer's. I assumed that the ex-display area would be used as a site office when the Artisan starts going up (since there's no adjacent lots for them to use). Guess they'll do what Aeris is doing and commandeer Kevin Taylor Ln.

Proposal has been received by DPTI for the Lot 300 development in Bowden

It is a 11 storey mixed use development, featuring 2 levels of basement parking and ground floor retail. 11 storeys are above ground, with a roof top garden on the 11th.

There are 4 buildings in total. The 11 storey building faces the park, 2x 6 storey buildings face Gibson Street and the lane, and an 8 storey development faces Fifth Street.

There are 228 apartments in this development, which includes a central courtyard.

The development is located right next to Bowden Park.

The proposal is as follows:
The proposal seeks to construct a mixed use multistorey development consisting of four separate towers connected at basement level and arranged around a ground floor central common space.

That's 354 Bowden, and the first two stages are already for sale (stage one is 70% sold I believe. Stage one is 354 On The Lane, stage two is 354 On The Park East (the 11 storey one). The other two are new of course ;)

I should have checked the website before, I wonder if the new application is just to add in the extra buildings.

Demolition will begin soon at the gasworks site, estimated to take about 12 weeks. Remediation will follow, which is about 12 months. The wall (both along Chief St, and along the rail line), the chimney, and a number of heritage buildings will be retained. As per the masterplan, a good portion of the area will be retained as open space (although more now compared to the original plan).

Both the Artisan and another un-announced building adjacent to Nexus (on the corner of Sixth St and Park Tce) will be beginning construction in the near future, not sure about when 354 will be starting though. Also, the block behind where Bike Kitchen currently is will now be developed as townhouses rather than apartments — in order to bring a bit more variety into the mix and target some larger families.

Anyone know if there is a crane base at Park Central? apparently its up to level 2. Being 12 stories you would think it would unless its done the same as August Towers.

Not currently, still using a mobile crane.

I'm trying to work that out. Last I heard, the two lots that were close to release were the one on the corner of Park Tce and Sixth St (next to Nexus, alongside the start of the overpass), and on Gibson St where Cirkidz currently have a carpark. The render doesn't look like either of those locations.

Edit. Found it. It is indeed the one where the Cirkidz carpark is. Gibson St between Fourth and Third Streets.

Are they trying to say that this will be a standard apartment block, or that this is the new standard, which others should aspire to?
cheers,
Rhino
