These commercial developments on airport land have been a planning disaster, but on the flip side they have allowed a hefty financial windfall for AAL, without which we wouldn't have gotten a shiny new terminal. So i'll live with these disasters

IKEA is a good store, but quite a rip-off i believe. good for AAL then, now we can pay for the multi-level carpark!

I don't think IKEA's a rip. You should see their catalogue... very nice designs and very affordable... quality sometimes suffers though.

That's why they've been so successful.. you could outfit an entire room quite cheaply. i dare say places like Le Cornu's will have to be more competitive when they come around.

Side note, right now i really love some of Nick Scali's furniture.. great price great designs.

Construction has started on 5 storey office/apartment building on the corner or Greenhill/Goodwood Road. Looks like it will be pretty good when its finished.

This development is not actually fronting Greenhill Road. It is at the intersection of Goodwood Road and Rose Terrace. The hole at the construction site is a few levels deep now.

I go past this one everyday on the bus to uni. Took a while to get going but last few months have seen major works on foundations and first floorplates are u/c. There was quite a hole there to begin with.

Saw an article on Ingvar Kamprad, the Ikea founder in yesterday's paper. The guy is the fourth richest bloke in the world and he drives a 12 year old Volvo!!! I mean come on... at least a 12 year old merc.

The man's quite the miser - he tells his executives to use budget airlines to save on cost and that's reflected in the products they sell. I agree that flat packs aren't the best for quality but at least you're not paying stupid prices for it. I reckon with Ikea, you could deck out your place with nice looking furniture for a very reasonable price.

I went to IKEA during the weekend and for the first time that I can recall I was really exited about furniture. There is something about the layout of the shop which makes you feel happy and want to buy things you really do not need.

The quality of the furniture and accesories was quite good, and the prices were relatively cheap.

IKEA is a wonderful addition to Adelaide, and it is another step in making Adelaide a metropolis and it is another nail in the Adelaide is a big country town coffin.

This is coming along well now. Lots of activity on the site and is getting higher each day I go past. Up to level 2 now I believe.

With the new Peugeot dealer opposite and the upgrade of Mitsubishi it will be a nice modern area once all is completed.

On the corner of Anzac Highway and Reid Avenue at Ashford (next to the Ashford Private Hospital), work has begun on a 5 level aged care residential building.

The project is by Omega Senior Care and it is being built by Commercial & General.

The project will include a private library and special sitting room for residents, as well as private balcnoies for residents.

There is a display centre at the site if anyone is interested.

According to my UBD there is no Reid Ave in Ashford, but it's probably just me.
