Just noticed today that Offshore Surf has closed and a number of adjacent businesses have been covered with hoardings.
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

AMF closed yesterday (September 21st 1992 - April 27th 2016).
The former Cash Converters is soon becoming Murray Valley Beef.

Clovercrest Bowl ? Where was that ?

I have lived in the area since 1987 but I don't remember it, I remember Skateline etc but definitely can't remember a bowling alley at Clovercrest.

I don't recall Clovercrest bowling either.
The machines at Ingle Farm were terrible. They would take chunks out of balls and jam all the time.

It's now the Clovercrest Shopping Centre. The Foodland there is the actual site of the old Clovercrest Bowl I believe.

Anyone know of the time gap between Clovercrest Bowl closing and Ingle Farm Bowland opening. I recall Clovercrest Bowl closing in the late 80's and Bowland opening around 2000-2001, but that seems a really long time to have bowling equipment laying idle.

Getting wayy OT, but you guys have to read this thread on FB. This guy is a wealth of knowledge!

The summary seems to be

Coles -> Bilo -> Spotlight
Godfreys & Radio Rentals -> Bowling ( ~1985 ) -> Franklins -> Foodland

Well that didn't take long, I went to KFC today at the Village and noticed that the AMF building has been completely demolished.

It was still standing as of Sunday so it looks like Aldi are wasting no time on this.

I have plenty of demolition pics on Flickr!
Sportspower will be relocating to the former Dick Smith next door soon.

Does anyone know if there will be any future land releases past the existing suburban Golden Grove boundaries?
It looks like to the east of GG it's touching the quarry, then its the hills face zone, but what about to the north Greenwith or other areas?
Looking at land in the TTG area it's getting rather difficult. Is TTG "done" in terms of expansion?

Both Golden Fresh Fruiterers and Red Panda Dumplings have closed moments before Aldi opened.

It's a very sad looking "food court" at the minute
