There's A LOT of temporary fencing been put around the grassy areas and A LOT of clearing being done at the moment. Is the extension starting?

I'm pretty sure that they are building a Dan Murphy on that land that faces the Golden Way.

The actual extension is apparently still a long way off yet.

To wake this thread up, a list of changes:

1. Dan Murphy's at the Village Tavern has opened this week.
2. The former Sprint Auto Parts building is likely to be demolished for redevelopment.
3. Cash Converters has closed (despite it being there for six years) and staff have moved to Modbury Triangle store.
4. Vegas Hair & Beauty (in the former NAB branch next to Caffe Primo) has moved to St Agnes (on Smart Rd).

Back in 2010 some scally wag changed the title of their post, and anyone who replied to that has cascaded the wrong development code through the thread. I've switch it to ON Hold.

The drive-thru BWS has now been demolished in the spite of the new Dan Murphy's opening.
A new outdoor beer garden (where smoking is permitted) will be built in its place.

Pizza Hut outside AMF Bowling has closed not long ago.
This may a clue that the bowling alley will close sometime soon too.

The bowling alley has nothing to do with Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut is closing down everywhere.

Oh noes! The 1990s in Marion could be over as the sole remaining dine-in type in SA could even be at risk!

I still think the Pizza Hut was unrelated due to the issues the company was having. But I have heard that the bowling alley is going now.
1st Ingle Farm, now Golden Grove. We are becoming very limited for Bowling options up north. It is rather disappointing.

Marion, Norwood, Cumberland Park and Woodville could possibly follow too.

AMF is definitely going, Aldi have taken over the license for the building and will be opening around June-July.

http://c-store.com.au/2015/08/10/aldi-s ... confirmed/

It was announced about 6 months ago now, not sure whether AMF are closing on their own choice or Aldi offered the building owners an offer that they couldn't refuse. Once Pizza Hut's lease was up it wasn't renewed and I've heard that AMF will be closing around March.

Personally I would have preferred AMF to stay and Aldi build where the old Cash Converters store was, there is plenty of land around there where they could have easily have built and would have been far more accessible than the AMF site.
