I still think the Pizza Hut was unrelated due to the issues the company was having. But I have heard that the bowling alley is going now.
1st Ingle Farm, now Golden Grove. We are becoming very limited for Bowling options up north. It is rather disappointing.

At least GameRoom Essentials have moved into the old Ingle Farm Bowland.

Interestingly Bowland looked like it went into Adminstration yet only the Ingle Farm alley closed.

The Cash Converters (former AutoPro) building is now being fitted after being vacant for a few years.

May 1st is the last day of trade for AMF Golden Grove.

Sad really, they are the last decent bowling alley in the northern area. Loved the years I spent at Bowland Ingle Farm, but once they closed I moved to Salisbury and they weren't pleasant people to deal with. Bowland at Elizabeth has a very run down feel to it. Kingpin will open across from Parafield Airport soon but they aren't a proper bowling alley

The Salisbury Bowland management are petty - especially their ridiculously strict no outside food policy (where I was asked to finish a Coke I had from Hungry Jacks before entering the alley because 'they have to make money somehow' - yes that was the explanation I got). It's sad before pre-Bowland, Salisbury Bowl was excellent (if not outdated).

"Proper" bowling alleys seem to be closing down a lot recently. Perhaps the entertainment mix that Kingpin provide is what is needed to inject some interest in the business?

I had to Google what Kingpin are because I'd never heard of them before and wondered what made them im"proper".

Bowled at one in Melbourne and the lanes were only half the length of regular ones. No league bowling though is the killer for me

Magic Mountain as the Beach House is basically the same thing in a different skeleton.
We have:
-Adventure Room and Escape Hunt.
-MegaAdventure Aerial Park.
-a very big inflatable slide until a week ago.

Times change and things change. Those old staples you named are not what people today want.

Ten - Pin bowling lanes are 60 feet - about 18 meters - how long would you say are these lanes at King Pin Crown?

They are more of an 'adult' bowling venue. They are like Strike Bowling. Social bowling rather than league bowling. A cross between a Pool hall & bar with bowling.
I bowled league for a bit back in high school at Golden Grove. I think GG would have survived if the building owners didn't want to sell up, and Ingle Farm had financial issues. It was not seen as a good venue for league. I heard stories of the machines taking chunks out of peoples balls.
I think its just a coincidence both are closing, and the new one at Parafield will target a different audience.

My understanding is that the pin setters and ball machines at Ingle Farm Bowland were originally from Clovercrest Bowl, and had spent quite a few years in storage
