I have heard this is the case.
At Calibre we just received a new till and on it, had the label DJs Burnside, so make that what you will.
Maybe it came from another DJ's store as Calibre is stocked in some of them. Its a long bow to string suggesting its related to the development as 1. it hasn't been approved, 2. it hasn't started and 3. they would not have even signed any tenants up yet just had preliminary discussions.

There have been other talks and rumblings within the company as well, sorry I should have specified that. Though they are also rumours and Chinese whispers.

At what stage would we hear of the tenants for these shops, would love to have some high end shopping in Adelaide, just got back from Sydney and it really shines a light on how we lack the high end stores here, guessing the market just isn’t big enough.

If the last upgrade was anything to go by, we'll likely only hear about any of the new tenants closer to completion. Zara was leaked if I recall, then they announced it, everything else came all at once in a press release. I imagine they'll probably announce the majors of the development (the cinema chain and the mini-majors) to build up further interest and then work their way down.

Also, I heard from a Zara staff member that I served at work the other day that staff there have now been notified that they will be leaving the centre once their contract expires next year... So, if this is true (which I suspect it is, because Zara have never quite been happy with the level of trade they get from the centre), there will be three large tenancies to fill in the centre.

From todays online Advertiser......

"Works to begin in January on $360m Burnside Village upgrade
Ben Cameron, Urban Affairs, Eastern Courier Messenger
an hour ago

Work will begin on the first stage of a $360 million redevelopment of Burnside Village Shopping Centre in January.
More than 30 soon-to-be demolished businesses to the north of the centre will have to close by the end of December.
Centre owner Cohen Group told Eastern Courier Messenger its ten-year masterplan for the centre was approved by the State Government’s assessment panel in late April.
Stage one will include a three-level building extending to Greenhill Rd, with 80 new specialty stores and a “luxury cinema” on the top level, and a dining precinct with space for up to 12 restaurants.
Cohen Group’s chairman Bruce Carter said work was expected to begin “in early 2020 after the Christmas trading season”.

“We are pleased to have received development consent to enhance South Australia’s premier shopping destination with the addition of more fashion, homewares, entertainment and dining options,” Mr Carter said.
“The proposed development includes world-class retail design creating opportunities to expand our renowned boutique retail offer in the distinctive Burnside Village atmosphere.
“Development approval not only enables Burnside Village to maintain its position as a landmark asset, it will deliver broader economic benefits by injecting more than $297 million annually into the SA economy.”
Stage one works are due to be completed by 2021.
About 100 existing carparks would be lost through works.
However, the centre would add a further 600 underground spaces, linked to the existing basement carpark.
Mr Carter said the development would create more than 900 construction jobs and 2780 ongoing positions once the 10-year masterplan was completed.

The Cohen Group will now seek a builder and “key retailers” for the centre."

I'd expect to see them target the likes of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Givenchy etc. and have them setup their first SA stores

Think they make more sense to be in the CBD, somewhere with massive visability like north terrace. Near Tiffany & Co

Disagree, low foot traffic along North Terrace with no other retail or hospitality offer, plus with different building owners would be too hard to get alignment. Wasn't there a proposal for a tower on the old Club 199 site.

The luxury brands would be better fit in Burnside, all high end, plus the demographic they target right on their doorstep.

I think that a second supermarket was in a future stage 2 extension?
Don’t reckon Harris Scarfe would go there!! Wrong demographic.
