When they were constructing the oval an excavator sunk into the wet ground and they paved over it.. Or so the legend goes.

Are the light towers getting re-used elsewhere? I heard they may be heading overseas. I hope they aren't just turned into scrap metal.

The actual towers them selves will be scrap metal, the actual light sections at the top will be reused.
Apparently they are being sent to Papua New Guinea for cricket.

Mostly amateur clubs I'd say. The SANFL clubs would already have what they wanted I'd dare say.

Any left will probably be scrapped.
