I drove past the site last night, and although it was dark, I think some concrete beams for the building are in place. In other words, construction appears to be up to the ground floor level. A crane shouldn't be that far off I suspect.

Yeah, I've been meaning to post something about it - I drive past it on the way to work. There are a lot of beams/columns and stuff up, and there was a crane there last week too. Making very quick progress at this point.

Slightly off topic but in same general location, but does anyone know if there are any plans to upgrade Richmond Road between South Road and Greenhill Road into a proper 4 lane main road. Its a disgrace at the moment and one would think that when this development is finished the road leading to it will have to be upgraded as well.

There is an easement for road widening mentioned in the application report - http://www.wtcc.sa.gov.au/webdata/resou ... eswick.pdf and a possible future linking of Morphett & Richmond Rds on airport land - but nothing in the short
term, as far as I know.

It hasn't moved for about a month. I'm not sure if it's normal practice to take such a long break over Christmas and New Year's in the construction industry.

From Wodhead International:
Woodhead designed ‘WorldPark 01’ nears completion in Adelaide

World Park 01 sets a new benchmark for green business park design.

Worldpark 01 located at Richmond Road; Keswick near Adelaide CBD features approximately 33,000m2 of net lettable area, ideal for businesses seeking the latest in environmental development and green design. The joint venture between Axiom Properties and Coffey International and will include Coffey International as its major tenant occupying 7000m2 of stage one.

The project’s masterplan was developed by Woodhead in collaboration with project engineers Lincolne Scott and Wallbridge and Gilbert, and features three buildings of approximately 11000m² each grouped around a large plaza forecourt which will house common facilities and meeting spaces.

The forecourt plaza space is the dominant visual and active feature providing a focal point for the development and the broader locality. It links to all of the site’s activities via a north-south street and aims to create a new community within the complex which can easily engage with the wider community.

Woodhead Principal Scott Ferris said the integrated masterplan will achieve a new benchmark for green business park environments both in Australia and globally.

“The project aims to create an enhanced lifestyle environment not generally seen in business parks including onsite child care facilities, gymnasium, retail, food and beverage and other support facilities,’ said Ferris.

‘Green initiatives are an integral part of the design, providing sustainable benefits through initiatives such as significantly reduced energy demand and water neutrality.”.

Responding to the changing needs of workplace culture is an important focus of the project which aims to provide work and lifestyle environments that enhance productivity and retention rates.

Woodhead aims to achieve a five star Green Star outcome for the office environments incorporating central plant serving passive chilled beam air conditioning that minimises energy use whilst at the same time providing the highest achievable levels of indoor environment quality.

Due to South Australia’s ongoing water shortages, water neutrality is a major focus for Woodhead and the design team who have developed a water cycle system that generates as much water as it uses. The system recycles and reuses storm water from both roof and ground surfaces, plus uses a black water treatment plant for sewage recycling for re-use for toilet flushing, cooling towers and irrigation. It is understood to be the first system of its kind in Australia.

According to Ferris, the project will also include restoration of the origins of the site through the re-establishment of the Adelaide Plains landscape ecology as an environmental feature of the development. Indigenous plant species will be used wherever possible to provide natural habitats for the region’s original bird and animal species.

Construction is currently underway and the development is expected to be completed in September 2010.

i'm presuming 'completion by sept 2010' means the first building only? otherwise they'd better get cracking...

So the tenants will be Coffey, CPS Credit Union renamed CMM, and a wonky Toyota!
