I spoke to someone a few weeks ago who works for the Scentre Group, they claimed that Stage 2 of the TTP expansion should be starting this calander year.

Apparently Stage 1 has been an even bigger success than they anticipated so they want to strike while the iron is hot.

Good.

Visiting TTP is like stepping back into the 90s.

Likely to involve repainting more walls and hopefully bridging the gap between this and Tea Tree Plus!

I went there just after Xmas to watch a movie. I had never been there before.
I was really impressed with the new area. Bustling with people well past ten at places that served alcohol and most other eateries full too. I wish they would do this for West Lakes in the next expansion.

Except in the 90s you could get a cup of hot donuts from Donut King  for about $2ish

Radio Rentals at Tea Tree Plus just closed recently.
Could this mean the fate of Tea Tree Plus is just around the corner?

That could possibly be true.

I know that's what happened with Buongiorno, they were told that they had two options they either committed to moving to the new precinct or had to close up.

I think they're beginning to move businesses on in readiness for the upgrade. I imagine it will eventually happen to Savers as well, no way will Westfield want them having a store that's connected to TTP.

In my own theory, Savers could move to a genuine new commercial building on the site of the Valley View Holden dealership.

Radio Rentals are downsizing a heap of their stores into 'Hi Tech Hubs'. The Radio Rentals at Hollywood Plaza recently closed, and a smaller, 'Hi Tech Hub' opened at Parabanks in it's place (somewhat going full circle as Radio Rentals were in Parabanks until the mid 90's in the space the post office now has). I think similar happened down at Noarlunga. It could be part of this downsizing rather than any announcement for the redevelopment that saw the Radio Rentals close.

Interestingly though Elizabeth both has both a hi-tech hub in Elizabeth City Centre and a full store on Elizabeth Way.

Originally back in the 1990s, Radio Rentals Hi Tech Hubs were three superstores; Tea Tree Plus, Prospect (Main North Rd) and Melrose Park (South Rd).
The Melrose Park building is now a place of worship while the Prospect building is still trading as usual.

Tropicana produce shop has finally closed after almost 20 years.

Also, Radio Rentals has finally decided to close all stores.

There's also intentions to expand out to Aldi and add more roof top parking. Not sure if its part of stage 2 or a later stage.

They may potentially look at doing that whole section from the exit near Big W on Level 2 and the whole outside area between TTP and Aldi.

Message regarding Lau Peking Asian Grocer:
Hi Ryan, thanks for your message, we appreciate your passion on the shop movements in the centre .
There has been a delay due to unforeseen circumstances which our leasing team and Lau Peking are working through. We hope to have an update soon, which we’ll let you know of. In the meantime we’re excited to have recently welcomed Mimco to Tea Tree Plaza and are expecting Bonds to open shortly. Many thanks, WTTP.
