Anybody want to live in a major intersection? Does the sound of cars rushing past put you at ease and make you drift to sleep? this could be what you've been waiting for.

What's the point of even prescribing height limits in the inner city metropolitan rim if developers are just going to keep ignoring them and propose buildings twice as tall?

Awesome spot prime location, double glase the windows no traffic noise problems, its just city living. Looking forward to this development, Prospect is rocking.

I agree, scotty's has been there forever and a day. Clearly customers dont find the location that bad. It is a fairly large site, only the front section would need thick windows, most the site would be the rear with no noise problems.

This one is now on public notification.

It will be 22m high and 7 levels. there will be 50 Motel apartments and 37 residential apartments.

The renders aren't great quality as its done by a fairly small local firm who have designed some of the projects in Bowden.

Will make a huge impression on a pretty dowdy route into the city.

While I am all for it its hard to believe the demand would be there (either to buy or to rent/stay) in this location. I remember not that long ago they scrapped the multi level apartment buildings on Park Tce facing Linear Park at Gilberton (old channel seven site) as there wasn't enough demand!

+1

I have same concern. Really? there's demand for this development on a major arterial road?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Who would have thought a suburb like Mawson Lakes with its apartment towers or apartment towers at Cheltenham (St Claire) would have worked. But they have.

The only downside to this one is it a on a busy main arterial intersection. Although a positive is its close proximity to North Adelaide and the CBD. Quite a few of the apartments could be investment apartments and rented out to international students or even students from remote areas attending Uni.

At of migrants from the third world wouldn't have a problem living in this building either, given they've come from far worse conditions. Living in an apartment a fee floors above an intersection that's virtually dead between 7pm and 7am? That's at its busiest when they are at work or uni? I don't think it will be that much of a hindrance for some people. I wouldn't live there personally but my tastes aren't every else's.

The building shown in the renders and labeled Proposed Building is obviously at 62-68 Main North Road.

Do the other buildings depicted in the render and labeled Potential 4-5 Storey Building simply show what could potentially be built on these sites?

I'm all for it - I was shocked to see the heritgage building get the boot which I thought was always the issue with development on site.

I would hope some work is done to that intersection (and the whole road) but I can see why it would appeal to people given it isn't far for the city.
