From the DPTI Facebook page posted on 13 July 2018:
What’s happening on the Northern Connector? Over the last month, works have increased along the Port River Expressway as the new bridge that will connect the South Road Superway and the new Northern Connector takes shape. The team have been working around the clock to install more than 30 piles over 2 continuous weekend shifts. Here you can see the piling rig in action, alongside one of the piers and reinforced earth wall which together will form the support for the new bridge structure. When complete the bridge will span almost 70 metres across the Port River Expressway.

If you plan a route will it tell you to take the Northern Connector?

Nope, it will still give you a route using Port Wakefield Road & Salisbury Highway.

It's also showing on the Realestate & Domain apps.

Looks like the new Superway northbound to Salisbury Highway eastbound ramp.

SA's first major concrete road shaping up
11 Dec 2018

Image

Concrete pavement works have started on the Northern Connector Project, with about 5km of the South Australia's first major concrete road already paved.

The pavement will require around 175,000 cubic metres of concrete, produced on-site, with the cement and quarry products being sourced in SA.

Constructing the road in concrete will almost halve future maintenance costs and, during construction, will generate an additional 40 jobs and an extra $11 million for the SA economy compared to building the road out of asphalt.
