Does anyone remember the original proposal from 2010? These concepts were before the bus lanes were put in place. Wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to make the stops a bit more formal like this.

Take a look at this!
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

I am still determined that these alterations to Grenfell St will probably result in more damage than rectification to a number of small businesses.
Still, that street is still in the throes of nigh-desolation.

Pics? (please)
edit:
I drove through this area yesterday afternoon from South to North about 4pm. It was before afternoon peak so things moved pretty smoothly. Removing the barriers makes the whole area look a lot more open and once the road is re-surfaced and some landscaping prettying up done around the edges, I predict that the project will be deemed a success and thus have a thousand 'fathers' (failure is an orphan) Obviously(silly if not) it is looking to be opened before the election in March 2018..could it be opened before Christmas this year?
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

I am pretty sure in an earlier visual of the project the transmission lines along Hackney Road had gone. The project is so advanced now it appears they will remain which is a big disappointment for mine as they are visually hideous. Can anyone clarify this?

Also, the work on Rundle St, reducing its width - is that still part of the works? I assume they will do this once everything else is finished?

Unfortunately Rundle Street will stay at 2 lanes :( However, the road is still being re-done, with work to start next week, along with East Terrace.

Check the latest fly-through render: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfy5l__ybV0&t=43s

Could be something to do with the tram going through here in the future.

Rundle st was only going to be reduced in size if a new surface road was constructed with the bus tunnel.
The parkland presavation people argued against the new road, so the old road stayed.

No, the plan was to remove Rundle Rd altogether in favour of the new road through to Grenfell St. The revised plan was to keep Rundle Rd but reduce the width to one lane each way + parking.

Oh yea, your memory is clearly better than mine.
I think the reduced road size was canned when the East End traders complained that car parks were being removed.

Which I don't understand, as no car parks were actually being removed. The amended Rundle Rd was still lined with angle parks, all they were removing were the second lanes (which sole reason for existing is as a 'looking/waiting for a park lane', since Rundle St on both ends is a single lane each way).
