Heard today that later in the year when the O-Bahn tunnel opens that the Clarendon Street Bus terminus(layover area) will close as the University intends to build on that site. There will be a new set down bus stop opposite, before buses terminate at a yet to be advised location!
Awesome. Source?

Went past the Grenfell end today and they were testing the signals.
I was right. They do work like the Southern Expressway's indicator lights; Red - Do Not Proceed and Flashing Yellow - Proceed With Caution.

I don't know why but I'm very excited for this to finally open...on track for a November opening perhaps which would allow for any teething issues to be corrected before the Christmas peak shopping period? I might have missed it but I don't recall hearing a projected completion date?
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

At this stage completion is still slated for "late 2017".

On the DPTI website it says that they will be opening a new interpeak stabling facility at Railway Terrace Mile End (opposite Bunnings) ,which I understand will have Southlink buses laying over(where they previously laid over in either Franklin Street or Torrens Transit's Mile End Depot) and Light-City Buses O-Bahn buses.

Late 2017 is pretty wishy washy:(
Probably so nobody in govt can be held accountable if it misses a deadline? lessons from the nRAH I suppose? :(

The cause of that was the rear brakes. A friend was close by and heard the explosion; he even sent me a photo. I drove past a few hours later and it was a mess. $100,000 in damage apparently.

They were testing the lights today, (they are actually red even though they appear yellowish on my phone).

Without wanting to sound like a parklands nutter, I really hope they are very vigilant on the landscaping at the entrance to the tunnel at the city end. The tunnel entry is VERY prominent in these photos. Not quite sure why the roadway needs to widen out so significantly once out of the tunnel? Also, if the ACC is to be responsible for the upkeep of said landscaping, I do hope sufficient attention is put in to the upkeep. I fully support the tunnel, but if it is not well maintained from an asthetic point of view, it will look awful, and the ACC like most councils does have poor form in some aspects of maintenance once everyone forgets about the new shiny thing.
