I read about the new obahn buses and felt that the tramline should be extended up to Tea Tree gully instead. This would mean a more unified and accessable city transport system.

I never was a fan of Obahn - apparently no other city except one is either. Light rail/trams are much more popular - why is this so? Why is'nt the state government seeing this? Has a point of no return be crossed? Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can fill me in.

Not disagreeing with your argument, but there are several other guided busways in existence. The O-Bahn is the oldest and longest.

Maybe so, but if Labor had been in power then they would have gone for light rail. Not rubbishing the O-Bahn (put in by the Liberals), but a light rail system would have looked better. We have most of the infrastructure already available, and it would only take a few modifications if they decided so. I can see the line at Hackney Road going underground just before turning into North Terrace and running right down to the railway station where it would see the sun again in the railway yards and joining other tracks going elsewhere. If the Glenelg tram line was under King William Street it could join up with that as well.

Even after the recent changes to the metro buses still are constantly overcrowded and are running behind. i thought there would be more services, but still im limited to about 5 different buses that i can catch into the city, i have also found soooooooooooo hard to try and go cross city, i have to spend nearly 3 hours on a bus to try and get to marion. i personally think conlon is destroying our transport system, what do u rekon ????

If you're going from the city to Westfield Marion, why not take a train to Oaklands Park and walk the extra 500m?

After the recent changes, the bus service has improved slightly for me. But I still rarely catch the bus, because I start work in the city at 6am.

littledyl16, you should consider yourself lucky.

Theres only 1 bus service that goes to the city from Mount Barker, and it only goes every hour off-peak. So if your running late for the bus and you miss it, you have to wait a whole another hour for the next bus (this has happened to me so many times).

But thankfully the bus service in the hills is going to get a huge overhaul in february which is going to help me alot.

yeah, maybe i am, didnt realise that about the hills tho.

you should get to your stop earlier then hehehe

i'm lucky, because buses to the city come every 15mins on Glen Osmond Road, and every 15mins on Portrush Road too.

no changes were made to the routes i use

when the first mentioned the changes to the metro, i was hoping that they would make salisbury highway a go zone, but they didnt!

Hang on i think they should they are spending it on the tax payers by putting on the governments cars and that well us other people aren't going to benifit from it i would rather the government spend $1 million on 1 bus then on heaps of government cars

This is a Adelaide City Council Project, it has nothing to do with the Government.
