Then there is the outer harbour line(?) near the Port Road intersection.
Bowden Station is on the Port Line, that's the crossing I was referring to.

It'd be interesting to see how they'd manage an underpass there, with the intersection so close. Maybe Howie was on the mark?

Silly question, but does the Port line carry freight? I'm down that way and haven't seen a freight train yet. But at renown park, no matter what time you leave for work you always manage to catch a freight train and traffic gets banked up all the way to south road.

No. The level crossing in Renown Park is the Gawler line, at Ovingham Station, which carries freight from Melbourne to Islington.

It will once the Penola Pulp Mill is up and running - still going ahead - supposed to add 20% by rail to Pt Adelaide exports. (see Protavia site).

With the Port River Expressway bridges, it will probably go though Islington and across Winfield. There is no broad gauge track that doesn't lead exclusively into Adelaide Station's yard or platforms.

Prior to the PRExy rail bridge being constructed, freight joined the Outer Harbor rail line near Alberton and exited at Glanville. Now that the bridge has been completed, rail freight uses no sections of the Outer Harbor line.

Any rail freight destined for Port Adelaide or Outer Harbor will use the ARTC line through Wingfield.

The works involving Bowden station is the track Outer Harbor can pass under the ARTC line and then below Park Terrace.
Its likely the ARTC track will be built up to make this possible.

I actually thought the underpass might be at Victoria St at Goodwood, seeing as they are going to grade seperate the freight and passenger lines, and relocate Goody station, they might relocate it directly over Victoria St?
cheers,

Just to make things perfectly clear, the grade separation sites refer to where the ARTC freight line crosses the Outer Harbor Line just east of the Park Terrace crossing at Bowden (Torrens Junction, not Torrens Road) and where the ARTC freight line crosses the Noarlunga Line just south of Goodwood Station (Goodwood Junction).
