Excavations continue in the South yard this week. This morning a couple of cranes moved the remaining third of the original written-off Flexity 103 to make way for the construction work.

It looks like it's been made by folding a piece of cardboard. The Citadis trams have really made these flexitys look sad. :(
cheers,

The original Flexity 103 was badly damaged when a shipping container sized object fell onto it while it was being transported by ship. As TA hadn't taken delivery of it yet, it became Bombardier's expensive problem. TA later bought it for spare parts, hence the missing bumper.

What you see in the picture is the completely undamaged section.

The South yard has been closed for some time as the upgrade continues. Its overhead has been removed and there are trams packed in, leading to many more shunting moves than we're used to.
When Citadis 206 was delivered, a number of trams were stabled on the main line to make room for the delivery operation. These three are at stop 12, three or four more were at stop 13.
