They've started giving these recharging stations out to newsagencies
Re: ## General Public Transport thread
Here's Flexity 115 being unloaded at Adelaide's Entertainment Centre stop.
The convoy arrived around 1:40 am, and the unloading was complete at 03:05.

Hi all, new to this but love reading all the posts and pics, have become an avid "reader" in the last few months. Great photos.
Re: Public transport smartcard system
I have been using mine for about 3 weeks now.
It has been basically flawless. It is so much quicker.
I also love the look on peoples face when I just show my wallet to the machine and it beeps
Its interesting though that my card works in my wallet, but my friends card won't work while in his.
Both are leather which I wouldn't think would impact on it. His actually has less in it than mine also.
Anyone else had problems with it reading while in their wallet?
The only time I had a slight problem was when I had lots of coins in my wallet. I just moved the wallet slightly and it read it.
This could have just been due to the distance away from the machine the card was because of the thickness of the coins.
One thing I think I would change is the balance display. I think it should only start displaying how much is left after the card reaches around $20.
I put $70 on the card at the last recharge. I don't like that it shows this amount where others can see it. It could make some people a target of theft.
I know it can be cancelled, or I could just put less on, but its just more convenient.

You are participating int the trial on the condition that you offer feedback.duke wrote: One thing I think I would change is the balance display. I think it should only start displaying how much is left after the card reaches around $20.

I think now might be the best time to express this

Hi
Has anybody worked out how 2 section tickets will work, I can't see that we will swipe off on leaving a bus/tram/train so how will the ticket know how much to deduct?
Or will we be stuck with seperate 2 Zone/All Zone tickets as present

$1,000 I believe.Hooligan wrote:How much can you load onto the card?
There is no swipe off mechanism.jimbly wrote:Hi

From what I understand is that if you swipe again within a 2 hour period it is classed as the same journey.
Re: Public transport smartcard system
Having the machine tell you in public that you have 990 odd dollars left does sound a bit dangerous.

I asked this question a few months ago. The response was a bit vague...jimbly wrote:Hi

According to him, there will be a separate card for two zone, as for concession & student.
Re: Public transport smartcard system
Having a separate two zone card is a bit of a crummy way to implement it.Allkai wrote:According to him, there will be a separate card for two zone, as for concession & student.
*BUT* you need to give the government credit for taking the simplest possible option, in the context of the myki disaster etc by pulling this system off the shelf and implementing it without too much modification they have pulled this off at about 1/40th the cost of what melbourne has spent so far. Requiring the two section people to carry a separate ticket is a small price to pay for a system that actually works, and from what I'm hearing, is currently working near flawlessly.

Re: Public transport smartcard system
If that's the case then, and I have to carry both a 2 section card and a normal card, if both cards are in my wallet and I pass it over the machine won't both cards then be docked?
