If that's true its pretty lazy and could lead to mis-communication with the public which is something youd think they'd be keen to avoid.
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

Sorry, but ... bollocks.mawsonguy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 10:48 pmOff ramps are designed with curves in order to slow traffic. There is insufficient room between the back fence of the caravan park and the southbound carriageway to accommodate an S bend in the offramp which means it cannot connect with a roundabout on the overpass. Likewise, there is insufficient room between the overpass and the southern boundary of the caravan park to allow the offramp to merge with the eastbound carriageway on the overpass.
Take a look at the newest freeway interchange in South Australia, which was built last year - the Nairne exit on the South Eastern Freeway. When exiting from the Murray Bridge direction, the ramp is steep (downhill) and almost straight, with a roundabout at the bottom. When exiting from the Adelaide end the ramp does an almost 180-degree turn, and is very tight. No problems so far, and heaps of use.
cheers,
Rhino

Work on rebuilding the Pym Street/South Road intersection is well underway.
At the opposite end of the project, work has again picked up on Taylors Bridge (over the Torrens).

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
regarding the works around the Northern Connector Southern interchange on PREXY.. heading west from South Road, the median Strip has been excavated down about half a metre.. does anyone have an idea why?
Is it for lighting around the future I/C?

Not sure about the depth, but removing electrical cabling could be why. That stretch of PRExy will be widened to accommodate the interchange and its new lanes and ramps.

does anyone know what's happening with the section of south road between Pym street and the start of the superway after recency road? the T2T finishes at Pym street then a km or so down the road the superway starts. are there any plans for this section in between?

That section is a separate project. We'll have to wait and see what happens.aceman wrote:does anyone know what's happening with the section of south road between Pym street and the start of the superway after recency road? the T2T finishes at Pym street then a km or so down the road the superway starts. are there any plans for this section in between?

ok thanks, I've noticed that if the T2T was to continue further north towards recency rd there are a few large showrooms etc near the intersection of recency rd. further south there's mainly houses and u can see where the land acquisition suddenly stopped!!

Money from the state government has been allocated in last year's budget, so hopefully there will be some federal funding for this in the next federal budget.aceman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 9:15 pmdoes anyone know what's happening with the section of south road between Pym street and the start of the superway after recency road? the T2T finishes at Pym street then a km or so down the road the superway starts. are there any plans for this section in between?

Given the latest 2PP at federal level I'm confident that we will get fundingNorman wrote:Money from the state government has been allocated in last year's budget, so hopefully there will be some federal funding for this in the next federal budget.aceman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 9:15 pmdoes anyone know what's happening with the section of south road between Pym street and the start of the superway after recency road? the T2T finishes at Pym street then a km or so down the road the superway starts. are there any plans for this section in between?

Well the Liberals(state) are also committed to the north south corridor, so they say. It was an election year..Waewick wrote: ↑Mon Apr 02, 2018 6:54 pmGiven the latest 2PP at federal level I'm confident that we will get fundingNorman wrote:Money from the state government has been allocated in last year's budget, so hopefully there will be some federal funding for this in the next federal budget.aceman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 9:15 pmdoes anyone know what's happening with the section of south road between Pym street and the start of the superway after recency road? the T2T finishes at Pym street then a km or so down the road the superway starts. are there any plans for this section in between?
Hopefully we can get a 'rolling' works program for the remainder of the corridor now. Once work finishes on one section, the next section is ready to go and they move on to that without too much delay.
