Get a bird's eye view of the Torrens to Torrens work from the train. Also includes some of the work being done for the shared use overpass.

I promise this is the last one for now... A drive-through video of the project yesterday, apologies for the weather.

Shows the movement restrictions at Adam Street and Pym Street as well a the new north-bound lanes.

Good stuff, Norm!

What's the deal with the new northbound surface road between Torrens and Pym? I swear I've seen cars on it twice.

It looks almost ready, but I've never seen it in use.

What is the straght dark bit across the middle near the far end of the substation? Is that a huge electrical conduit or sewer pipe that will become a small bridge of its own?

It's a services bridge. It definitely contains some high voltage power lines, but I'm not sure what else is in it.

Thursday 13 April 2017 there were lots of dump trucks making the journey north along South Road and east on Salisbury Highway. I expected them to turn left into the area at the southern end of the Northern Connector where earthworks are underway but instead they continued onto Port Wakefield Road. I suspect that they are dumping at the "Jones Road Materials Storage Site" behind Krispy Kreme where they are storing excess spoil from the OBahn Tunnel (http://www.statedevelopment.sa.gov.au/u ... onPack.pdf). This appears to be a stockpile for the Northern end of the causeay across the salt pans. Presumably they are not yet fully ready to start on the Southern end of the causeway.

The remaining bit of the surface road between Torrens Road and Pym Street will be opened on Saturday.

The "trench" on the southern side of the Torrens Road bridge is well underway. It's quite a few meters deep already.

Yep, that's to put in the bridge spans for the bridge over the next few weeks.

I know it allows for future development but it looks like there is going to be heaps of un-used land (to the left heading North) from Torrens Rd to Pym St until it happens. Also if the plan is to continue to bulldoze all the buildings on that side until Regency Rd, shouldn't they start giving people (ample) notice from now?

For all we know, it might not happen for another ten years. They probably get the idea that the days of their dwellings and businesses are numbered. At least this way, land values are lowered.

While you hope commonsense would prevail the next group of shops after Pym St says renovation starting soon or similar. There has also been a house/homette recentky sold along here which you hope the highways dept bought (but honestly doubt it as they prob don't have money in their budget allocated yet anyway).
