The underpass is mostly complete and the site has been cleared up but still no sign of any actual overhead wiring. Picture taken from pedestrian crossing south of underpass.

As a special thanks to the local community for their patience and understanding during construction, you are invited to celebrate the completion of major works on the Goodwood Junction Upgrade. Be the first to take a train through the new underpass, and get updated information from the project and construction teams.

The celebration will include:
- Free train rides in the new Goodwood rail underpass, leaving from Goodwood Station via Forestville Reserve
- Photographs taken during construction of the Goodwood Junction rail underpass
- Information on landscaping and urban design treatments, and the Community Wildlife Project

Plus:
- A free sausage sizzle
- Children’s activities
- Live entertainment

Sunday 10 November 2013 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.

For further information please call: 1300 443 198 or email: [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you there.

what are the metal strips alongside each and every rail? Grounding strips that thin for 25 kV would be pretty useless...

That stuff is expansion caulking between the concrete slabs, its a cream/grey coloured sort of rubber compound.

Unfortunately there is not much extra work happening at the Leader Street crossing :(
DPTI wrote:Leader Street level crossing
Safety improvements for cyclists and pedestrians will be delivered at the Leader Street Rail Crossing through the provision of automated gates and visual warning lights at each of the two pedestrian/cycling level crossings. This will also improve safety along the Adelaide to Marino Rocks Greenway that runs alongside the Seaford rail line corridor.
