I don't think that's fair (from this video as evidence), they're all either coming to a slow to stop at the station or accelerating away from it. Once they get past the wiggle around the old platform they're going quickly.

our trains are slow even when on a straight section (anywhere on the gawler line for example), my s-bahn in germany did over 140km/h between suburban stations...lets hope they go that fast by 2016 once all the super upgrades and electrification have been built, at least then an express to Adelaide will feel like an express :D

At the present time, a 25km/h TSR (Temporary Speed Restriction) has been imposed at Oaklands and this will remain until a week or two after the track has been realigned on the old station site. The reason why the wouldn't raise the speed back to line speed immediately after realignment is to allow the track to consolidate firmly before the speed can be raised safely.

Do they plan as part of the electrification, track upgrades etc to upgrade each station to
something similar to Oaklands Park/Mawson Lakes etc? Also as part of these TOD the government is planning carparks at TOD stations should be multi-storeyed...

No, and nor should they! There are better things to do with the money than rebuild perfectly adequate stations!

Whether and where the carparks should be multi storey is a separate issue from where TODs are constructed. Unless of course you mean that they should build a TOD where the parking currently is and make the car parks multi storey to provide the same number of parking spaces.

Most of Adelaide's stations could do with basic upgrades - stuff like:

- fixing dodgy concrete
- adding extra shelters or replacing old ones
- better lighting
- extending platforms for longer trains
- stuff like that...

But not on the scale as mentioned, no.

Sunday the 29th of July. Work continues into the evening as workers lay new track through the site of the old platform.
The new concrete sleepers accommodate both gauges (as expected) .
When I left just before 6pm, the tamper had just started levelling the up track.

Nice one Mr D. I went down there and had a quick look on Fri for 1st time. I was impressed with the station considering the budget, however was less than impressed with the bus inter(no)change. I thought a decent bus interchange would be built so buses from Seacombe Heights/Seaview downs etc and Marion shops would drop off commuters to change to trains to city. Obviously not!
