Park Terrace in Salisbury is a more urgent level crossing need than Brighton Road in my opinion.
Our state, our city, our future.

Emerson is ok,its got a North--South overpass.
Brighton Road Hove is a major road, and in the peak hour its bumper to bumper from Tapleys Hill Road Glenelg North to the top of Brighton Road Seacliff and with the boom gates down between 25-30% of the period between 7 and 9am the need is urgent, even waiting until 2023 is too long.

how would they even do Brighton road at hove? there's no room to move the line north or south of where it currently is like they did at Oaklands. it would need to go directly above or directly below where it currently sits.

No point doing Emerson while there is a review iogoing about the broad design of the north-south corridor. Once the design is set, it may be possible to do whatever the solution is for that area in advance of the main freeway, but it would be silly to do something now and then rip it all up a few years later.

Happy to see the Torrens Road one go.

I saw 2 guys in yellow coats inspecting the crossing last Friday, Just didn't add it up.

If SA Liberals are to grade separate Brighton Road they might as well do Skyrail (viaduct) from Warradale to Marino.

Skyrail was an option in Melbourne because there was already a wide rail corridor within which the viaduct could be constructed while maintaining the existing rail service. The Hove - Marino corridor is narrower.

Almost all the posts that have been moved to this newly created thread from News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains are a discussion of level crossing removal across the entire network and are not directly related related to the specific Brighton Road project. Is it then more appropriate to return them tp the trains discussion thread and keep this thread project specific?

Maybe instead this thread could be renamed "Level Crossing Removals" and cover all of them. They seem to be put forward as a continuous one-after-the-other production line.

Agreed. It seems likely that more will follow after Brighton and Torrens commence.

I disagree, based on the following points:
  • All the level crossing removals have different timelines, and are distinctly separate from each other
  • The Torrens and Goodwood Junction projects were in separate threads
  • The Oaklands Crossing project is in its own separate thread, and has a number of comments and photos
  • Due to the number of photo contributions we have now, keeping them together will make a mess for anyone trying to follow the progress.
  • While the projects are funded, they are not going to start for several years. There will be a number of concepts, plans etc that will be released over that time.

Again its a safe Labor seat so there's no need to give it priority.

Putting that aside, both crossings are appalling and need work.
