I like how when developers can't get their way in the CBD, they build just outside. I'd laugh so hard if one of them sent in a proposal to build a 105m building on Little Grenfell St in Hackney :) I know it probably wouldn't happen but I can imagine the ACCs face :P

Looks like this has received the usual "dumb down/reduce in height" akin to most Adelaide proposals. From 7 stories to 5.

Ok so I've jumped to conclusions here, but was the developer not confident of a 7 level building or did the negativity from the council influence this?

i would say the former because of the GFC. they are being cautious

The cross-sections in images 9 & 10 of the floorplans suggest another possibility - they make a point of showing that the reduced height means the top floor of the adjacent building still has views to the south.
