Glad they are retaining and upgrading the existing hotel. There was plenty of speculation that they would demolish it which would have set a really bad precedent (mind you plenty of that speculation was fueled by Rachel Sanderson so I guess it was always fairly dubious). Looking forward to seeing the renders.

Offices? In this location? Really? With office vacancy rates as they are currently?

Have the developers been taking the red mitsibushi tablets lately?

Well the developers have plenty of time to think about it before the build starts, time to alter the DA.................16 levels of offices...to 18 levels of apartments......plenty of time.......

The plan has always been for office space here - can fondly everyone whinging about the pub being sold to Chinese developers... despite most of said whingers not having set foot in the CBD, let alone a CBD pub, for the last 5 years. And, as mentioned, Rachel Sanderson banging on about apartments, despite that never having been part of the plan.

I really like it. Except for the blank wall. Unless there are plans in the future to build next to it?

I find the blank northern wall strange...I wonder if they are aware of a further development on the adjacent block to their north?

Based on my past observations, I would hazard a guess that the building owner and/or architect would have wanted it to be ALL glass and it would have looked far better...but the govt architect/planners insist on concrete neighbouring walls for fire rating purposes/building code regulations or whatever, just in case another [high-rise] building is ever built adjacent/next door ... one day.

Looks impressive, and I like the terrace. I hope it stays close to the render.
