Hopefully WF can bring a better sense of residency and community to the area with some permanent residents, as there's a really transient feel down there at the moment.

Looking at the pictures they have up on the fences and buildings along Franklin Street, it looked more to me like the next building would be to the east of the first two towers, extending towards Morphett Street.

No DA has been lodged but the concept renders were about the same size building as Gallery.

Actually I think the lower white building (~8 floors) in the right hand corner is stage 2, and stage 3 is not on that render. Stage 1 has two towers as shown, while stage 3 would be on the left of stage 1.

That's what I thought, the current twin towers being built in that shot are underway now, as they share a podium. Stage 4?
[COM] Re: [West Franklin] | 54m & 64m | 17 & 20 lvls | Apartments
I don't believe there is a third tower. From what I understand the next building is a smaller
development directly to the south of Altitude. A taller building can't be put in this location
since it would block the view of the people in Altitude.

That’s not a reason a taller building can’t be built. Unless they have air rights which they do not. The western views are currently being blocked now by the buildings being constructed.

Oaks wanted the massage parlour removed a few years ago, but the building management denied it :mshagg wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 2:50 pmBetter ambience than the tax accountants in altitude's retail space lol.ghs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:27 amThe late night massage parlour doesn't create a good ambience either.mshagg wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:25 pmExcept the majority of Galley and Altitude are cheap hotel rooms and large swathes of both buildings are unoccupied at any given time. Up date 18 /2/2018. The front tower (facing Franklin St) is at level 7 and the rear tower is at level 8.

A back view of the northern tower. 22/2/18. Note there is a faint pattern in the concrete wall

A little off topic but the sponge doesn't look half bad in that pic...

It's worse than half bad, it looks like a half ass building that belongs in North Korea

I personally think the difference in the colour of the panels on the sponge building is less noticeable now then when first constructed.

The 'sponge' - I love it. To me it's a shocker. It seems we are picking up on the London idea of naming buildings by their appearance.
