Carpark closed and they are filling back in the hole made when removing the basement foundations. Seems strange when the plans of the building indicate a basement level. Guess it has something to do with the piling? Fill it in, pile and then dig the dirt away again?

You'd need a flat, level site for the piling rig to operate. Pile first, then excavate.

They're still demolishing the basement level in front of the stalled construction that they hid under some sand. It's been jackhammers since dawn today.

That could be it. When I went to look they were messing around in front of the podium construction.

Without wishing to worry too much does anyone "in the know" have any idea if the proposed 118m tower at 269 North Terrace will have any impact on the timeline of this project? It will alter the north east view for many either staying or residing in The Adelaidean. In hundreds of cites where towers sit right next to each other this wouldn't even be an issue but surely the promised northern views across the parklands have been one of The Adelaidean's best selling points - just curious!

That should be something any purchaser of CBD apartments takes into consideration and if they don't they are foolish. Once a contract is signed there are very few things to enable you to get out of it. A building going up next door blocking your view is not one of them. The only way it potentially would be was if the developer intentionally mislead purchasers to believe this would not or could not happen.

The website says: "Unobstructed views in every direction from Adelaide’s tallest building" and when you look at the views document I reckon there'll be few people feeling rather miffed.

Yeah. One of the views that they're selling on is this one below. I doubt they're going to let some student accom steal that million dollar view. A significant amount of the views shown in that document are going to be obstructed. I doubt they'll let that happen without a fight.

It doesn't need to be directly next to the Adelaidian (yet still somewhere in the same area).

Even if they developed it diagonally on the Budget site, it would be a huge improvement.
